As Mayor I will commit to inviting the public into the process of determining our future. Point to point, the City of Duluth has an enormous amount of momentum right now. From the series of projects we are kicking off along the St. Louis River Corridor through the half and half tourism tax, to the mixed use housing and commercial projects underway across the city, this next chapter will be one of great opportunity.
As long as we get it right. Getting it right means maintaining this momentum while incorporating fresh ideas. It means identifying a comprehensive and stable, ongoing funding source for street repairs.
It means working within each neighborhood to combat blight and safety concerns. It means investing in solid relationship building with our County, State, Tribal and Federal partners. And it means grounding the work of our City, and our vision, on what we build for our next chapter.
As Mayor I will lead with my steady, responsive and enthusiastic leadership. She was inaugurated on January 4th, Emily earned an undergraduate degree from the College of St. Together they have two sons who are now taller than her. This is about who is best equipped right now, who is making the pitch of where we need to go in these areas. About half of it is pre-committed bond repayments and legislative requirements, along with marketing before the rest is given out to entities that revolve around attracting visitors to Duluth.
