The jumping timeframe that kept flicking from the sixties to the eighties to the present day was a little OTT at first, but it settled down as the episode progressed. The 80s scenes were by far the most interesting, and had a faint whiff of Ghostwatch about them, and while they didn't do anything that hasn't been seen many times before, there's a definite sense of dread building there.
Unfortunately, the couple in the contemporary scenes seem desperately uninteresting at this stage, although there are hints of a backstory to be drawn out. The backstory of Alice also seems a little well worn ar rgus stage, but it's early days yet, and there's still time for it to take a different tack, I suppose. Digiguide shows no repeats of episode 1 at all, but it's available here on ITV Player. ITV Player is useless for me unfortunately so it looks like I'll have to miss it completely.
Let me know if the series is worth renting when you've finished with it. I thought it was really good. There was some right creepy stuff in there and I thought the way it did the jumps between the present and the 2 past periods was nicely done.
Thanks for the offer but I've got loads of TV shows I'm keeping up with at the moment that I'm happy to wait to rent this one. Anyone else following this? I thought episode 2 was really good apart from the last few seconds and I'm still not entirely sure where it's going.
Very entertaining so far. This is one of my favourite things on TV right now. Well acted, nicely shot and some pretty spooky parts. Nice work ITV. Also, Jodie Whittaker is insanely hot see below. My wife watches it, so it's on in the background. Safe, unfrightning, not very dramatic and becoming more cliched and predicatable by the week.
The 's 84? Jodie Whittaker is indeed very lovely, and far more attractive with dark hair - the rest of the production's exactly what you'd expect from ITV, and incredibly ironic for a 'supernatural' drama: soulless.
Last episode this week and it all played out fairly safely. The twist wasn't a real surprise but i enjoyed the 5 episodes over all. Thought it was ok. Pretty safe and predictable and it could have done with being an episode shorter to up the pace a little. You need to be a member in order to leave a comment.

I'm expecting the worst but hoping for the best. Posted February 4, She was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, where her father Colin was a reporter for the Evening Chronicle before moving to the Daily Telegraph and spending years based abroad. Her uncle worked for the MEN, while her brothers were also journalists. Anne was sent to boarding schools in the UK and visited her parents in the holidays. I had quite a strong north eastern accent and my dad wanted me to get rid of it.
So he put me through elocution lessons and I started learning bits in plays. I enjoyed it but I have no regrets about leaving. After leaving Weatherfield, Anne spent 14 years away from acting following the birth of son Mark, now a film editor. She also looked after husband Peter — the former Head of Drama at Granada — who was fighting cancer and died in But it was sex scenes with future James Bond Daniel Craig in film The Mother that caused casting directors to look at Anne afresh.
The spooky tale features the repercussions of the death of a little girl on three separate families who live in the same house in , and Does Anne believe in the supernatural? My mother and father and my brothers and my husband. I feel constantly surrounded. I just think about things and they happen. Anne found herself working on two series at once.
Then it was back to Cardiff. I never knew where I was. So I wanted Downton Abbey to be a success for her. And I enjoyed it very much. Although now based in a central London flat, Anne still makes regular visits back to Cheshire and spent Christmas in Congleton. I was always driving up and down doing things and it just got a bit too much in the end.
Not that she has any plans to retire. I just want to play good parts. ITV Move from Manchester. You are commenting using your WordPress.
