When you believe which movie

I saw the bad rating on this movie, and watched it anyway. I can't see how anyone, except someone who hates Christians could rate this movie badly. It's about being people doing good, even when it's hard. What's wrong with that? It's interesting that a movie that reflects good gets a rating of 5. I would recommend this movie to anyone who believes in the greater good, rather they believe in Christ or not. Details Edit. Release date March 20, United States.

A pop version of "When You Believe" with additional music by writer-producer Babyface , was also recorded for the film by American singers Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston for the film's end credits and its soundtrack album.

A cover version is performed by David Archuleta. The original version of the song, featured in the narrative portion of the film, is sung by Sally Dworsky , Michelle Pfeiffer , and a children's choir. The song received generally mixed reviews from contemporary music critics. The song however, achieved strong charting throughout Europe and other worldwide regions, peaking within the top five in Belgium, France, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Due to strong single sales in Europe and the US, the song has received various certification awards throughout many major music markets.

Prior to their performance of the song that night, Schwartz left Babyface's name off the nomination submission sheet. He felt that because the additions Babyface added to the song were not featured in the actual film version, he did not deserve writing credits. However, while Babyface did not receive the Oscar, Carey and Houston performed his version of the song, because they were more familiar with it than the one in the film.

Prior to their performance at the Academy Awards, they sang it on November 26, on The Oprah Winfrey Show , promoting the song, as well as both their albums. The song featured two music videos. Gunn in a reasonably touching manner perhaps not coincidentally, this plot thread is the least overtly religious-minded of the bunch.

At other times, however, it seems to be going out of its way to throw in things to fire up the base regardless of how they may work from a dramatic standpoint—characters especially the EMT's wife find their behavior randomly switching from scene to scene with no rhyme or reason and the runaway tells the story of how she left home because her evil stepmother tried to trick her into an abortion. The finale, in which all of the storylines finally converge and how is exceptionally ludicrous and by once again relying on a traffic accident help tie things up in the end, Konzelman and Solomon seem to be suggesting that if there is a God, He or She is apparently a fan of the other, better "Crash.

Subtle as a sledgehammer to the toes and only slightly more entertaining, "Do You Believe? Those who are not as heavily invested in its core message will probably find it laughable though not nearly as much as "God's Not Dead," a film so risible that it is being screened next month at the American Atheists National Convention, complete with riffing by two of the guys from the late, great "Mystery Science Theatre " and will likewise not find any reason to question their own personal value systems.

This is a shame because I would rather see a movie that presents a opposing viewpoint in an interesting and provocative manner than one that merely parrots what I already believe in any day of the week. On the bright side, if "Do You Believe? For that, even I would be willing to take a knee. Peter Sobczynski is a contributor to eFilmcritic. Mira Sorvino as Samantha.
